Fiona Mackenzie is a former studio executive with over 15 year experience in the development, casting, financing and production of studio films, television movies and series television. In January 2020, she wrote, directed and produced the music driven romantic comedy Tell Me I Love You, shot in Los Angeles and London, and being distributed by Vision Films.
Prior to forming Ascent Media, Fiona held senior level producing and creative executive positions at Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and Lionsgate, developing and setting up projects from 5 to 80 M USD.
In 2017 Fiona founded Ascent Media Group to develop and produce entertainment with a female focus and international perspective. Ascent Media now has a slate of female led features and scripted series in development with US, UK and European financiers and production partners.
Fiona began her career based in Paris for 7 years as a journalist working for ABC, CNN, and CBS. She holds a BA from U.C. Berkeley, an MS from Georgetown University’s Graduate School of Foreign Service, and is a dual US/UK citizen. She enjoys writing stories with international storylines and lives and works in both countries.
