Living in the Future’s Past
Director / Producer
Susan Kucera, who lives in Hawaii, is an acclaimed director, cinematographer and producer. She started filmmaking at age 9 helping her dad, a glaciologist and professor, make science films for Britannica. She has on her account a number of great documentaries, which were awarded at many festivals.
Susan asks in her films the questions about the future of our planet and us – people, who lope towards the catastrophe. First time she expressed her concern about future generations in the film ‘Breath of Life’ starring Richard Dawkins. Her next word in this discourse was the film ‘Living in the Future’s Past’ – narrated and produced by Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges. This is a beautifully photographed ‘tour de force of original thinking’, which helps us to understand our true connection to the environment and consequences of our decisions.
Susan is a great filmmaker with remarkable ecological and social sensitivity.
