Ellie is an award-winning filmmaker from the UK, working primarily in the field of Documentary. She is particularly motivated to make films which centre women and the LGBTQ+ community. Her first short documentary “Voices”, produced, directed and edited by herself, was created during the rise of the #metoo movement and went on to win best student documentary at the Small Axe Radical Film Festival. Her second short documentary “We Are Here” which follows the Manchester Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, has screened at LGBTQ+ film festivals worldwide, with national premieres at Taos Pride film festival and Scottish Queer International film festival. Ellie’s most recent short documentary “Erena…Our Eritrea” is currently touring the festival circuit in the UK and France. She is currently in pre-production on several short films with LGBTQ+ and female narratives.

Ellie also works with several film festivals in the UK, particularly in film programming and is dedicated to promoting diversity within the film industry. She is currently an ambassador for 16 days 16 films, a short film initiative campaigning to end violence against womxn.
