Laura Nordin produces, directs, and acts. Currently based in Toronto, she is originally from Vancouver, BC. Laura holds her BFA from UBC and her MFA from the joint program between Harvard’s American Repertory Theatre Institute and the Moscow Art Theatre School. In 2010, she co-founded Filmcoop with Emily Andrews as a means to collaborate with and encourage filmmakers to realize their creative vision. In 2016, the CFC approached Laura and Emily to produce the short dramatic film CLEO which went on to premiere at TIFF 2016.

Directing credits include: Love, Sarah (Short), Begin Again (Webseries Trailer), Morro and Jasp Do TV (TV Pilot), After Birth (TV Pilot), Bedtime Story (Short, ReelHeArt 2015), Meeting Jeff (Short, ReelWorld 2014), OutsideIN (TV Pilot), When I Was Young and In My Prime (Short, Whistler 2010) and The Package (Short, Movieola 2009-2013). Producing credits include: Jessica Jessica (short, Best Screenplay-VSFF 2018, Toronto New Wave and Audience Choice Awards-Breakthroughs 2018, Dazmo Camera First Winner -Lakeshorts 2018), Stuck (HollyShorts 2018), Orchid (short, Austin Revolution 2018), Piano Lessons (short, Rendezvous With Madness 2017), Heart (short), Pond Life (feature – Canadian Film Festival), The River You Step In (feature), Stir (short, CIFF), Luuvie (short, CIFF), Burning, Burning (feature, Raindance).

Coming Up: Directing: Love, Sarah – a short about unlikely friendship sewn together by loss. Nominated for Best Director at HollyWood Dreamz Film Festival in Las Vegas.

Producing: Torching the Dusties, a short based on the Margaret Atwood short story starring Clare Coulter and Eric Peterson, Best Friends Forever a short horror film set in 1996 starring Addison Holley, and the action feature film Things I Do For Money with writer/director Warren P. Sonoda.
